Arrowpoint Capital Teams Take Part In Dodgeball Fundraiser
04/08/2014

Arrowpoint Capital is ready for action! The company is entering two teams in the Third Annual Community Matters Dodgeball Tournament this Friday, April 11, at the Sports Connection in Charlotte, where Arrowpoint staffers will once again be dodging, diving, ducking and dipping in the name of charity.

This year, the dodgeball tournament is raising money to fight homelessness in Charlotte through Community Matters’ partnership with Crisis Assistance Ministry and Charlotte Family Housing. The event is expected to bring out more than 500 players and volunteers from the local insurance industry.

Forty-two teams representing large insurance companies, insurance brokers, risk managers and insurance industry support services have each pledged to raise at least $1,500. It is great fun and great competition – as these business competitors work together to raise funds to help end homelessness in Charlotte-Mecklenburg.

The Dodgeball Tournament is the first of many fundraising events that Community Matters has planned this year to benefit its two new charity partners: Charlotte Family Housing and Crisis Assistance Ministry. Arrowpoint Capital is a founding member of the organization.

“Community Matters selected our new partners because of their complementary focus on battling homelessness – Crisis Assistance Ministry on the prevention side and Charlotte Family Housing on the recovery side,” said Tom Lott. “Prevention and recovery from loss is what the insurance business is all about. So we’re excited about tackling this issue head-on through fundraising, volunteerism and awareness efforts.”

Although Community Matters is only in its third year, it already has a solid track record of success, having contributed more than $400,000 and 20,000 volunteer hours to its first charity partner, Safe Alliance.
