Arrowpoint Capital Plays Key Role in Charlotte Nonprofit
02/01/2016

Arrowpoint Capital will once again be a key supporter of Community Matters: Insurance Partners of Charlotte in 2016 as the insurance nonprofit organization begins its fifth year “making a difference in the Charlotte community.”

Arrowpoint is one of the founding member companies of Community Matters, which is raising awareness and funds for homelessness prevention and recovery in the Charlotte region through its 2014-16 partnership with Charlotte Family Housing and Crisis Assistance Ministry.

Community Matters was formed in 2011 by a group of insurance and risk management professionals as a means of working together to make a difference in their community by partnering with one or two local charities each year. It has had a significant impact in a short time, raising more than $750,000 and donating more than 40,000 volunteer hours to charity in its first four years.

Arrowpoint President and CEO John Tighe is Chairman of the Board for Community matters. The company’s Corporate Communications Director, Kedar Bryan, is also on the Board.

The organization raises funds through corporate and personal contributions as well as four major fundraising events during the year: its Dodgeball Tournament, Golf Tournament, Party with a Purpose “Happy Hour” and year-end Celebration Dinner.
