Arrowpoint Capital Chief Claims Officer Julie Fortune will be a presenter at the 2011 RIMS Annual Conference in Vancouver, BC, this May.
The five-day event, sponsored by the Risk and Insurance Management Society Inc., is the largest gathering of risk management practitioners worldwide. The conference attracts some 10,000 business executives, brokers, insurers and solutions providers annually.
Julie’s panel presentation, entitled “Corralling Fifty States into One Viewpoint,” will examine workers compensation regulations at the state and federal level. It will look at how proposed changes in national and state workers compensation legislation – including health care reform and recent pharmacy, durable medical equipment and Medicare Secondary Payer regulations – can affect a business’ operations and bottom line. The panel will also provide guidance on how organizations can better prepare for recent and pending workers compensation legislation.
Participating on the panel with Julie will be Kevin Tribout, director, government affairs, PMSI, and Tony Tutoni, senior vice president, Marsh.
Julie Fortune currently oversees claims activity for Arrowood Indemnity Company, doing business under the trade name of Arrowpoint Capital. Before joining Arrowpoint Capital, Julie served as the Vice President of Staff Counsel, Services Provider Group, and Claims at Fireman’s Fund Insurance Co. Prior to Fireman’s Fund, she held various senior level positions with Zurich NA and Liberty Mutual Insurance. Throughout her career, Julie has gained extensive experience in claims, organizational transition, and vendor and litigation management. Julie earned a Juris Doctorate from Antioch School of Law, a Master of Arts from Ohio State University and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Oregon.
