Arrowpoint Capital Executives to Speak at Litigation Management Institute
Two Arrowpoint Capital executives will be presenters at the 2014 Litigation Management Institute (LMI), to be held at Columbia Law School in New York City on Oct. 16-19. The LMI is sponsored by the Claims and Litigation Management (CLM) Alliance.
Claims Executive Robert Baer will lead a course on "Resolution Strategies." He will examine tools and techniques that can help law firms resolve claims cases more quickly, become more cost effective through the use of alternative fee arrangements and case-appropriate staffing, improve client communication and become better business partners. The presentation will go beyond the traditional methods of case management and resolution. Presenting with Bob will be Susan Grondine-Dauwer, principal at SEG-D Consulting, LLC.
Actuary Rich Fuller will discuss "Reserving and Data Management from an Actuarial Perspective." His presentation will look at how insurance carriers use the information provided to them by their defense counsels to analyze and evaluate the financial considerations associated with each claim and to determine the appropriate total claim liability that the company maintains on its balance sheet. Rich's co-presenter will be Frank Chang, lead actuary at Uber.
Arrowpoint Capital Chief Claims Officer Julie Fortune is serving as an LMI chancellor.
The LMI is the first certification program specifically designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the business of litigation management. The rigorous program is geared toward attorneys and those in the litigation management field with 10 or more years of experience. The program is designed to bridge the gap between legal theory and litigation strategy and the business aspects of litigation management.
