Arrowpoint Capital Executives to Speak at 70th Annual Workers’ Compensation Educational Conference
Two Arrowpoint Capital executives will be presenters at the 70th Annual Workers’ Compensation Educational Conference in Orlando, Florida, on August 23-26, 2015.
Chief Claims Officer Julie Fortune and Actuary Rich Fuller will lead an August 24th panel on “Death is Not an Acceptable Outcome: How Co-Morbidities and Drug Treatments Can Promote Morbidity and Early Mortality.” Dr. David Randolph with Midwest Occupational Health in Cincinnati, Ohio, will also be on the panel.
The session is part of the conference’s National Workers’ Compensation Review, a medical-legal program focusing on new and well-validated techniques to help participants challenge and avoid inappropriate opiate applications and surgical interventions.
Julie and Rich will discuss the unintended consequences that can occur when treating injured workers with the unbridled use of drugs – namely increased pain, respiratory depression, cardiac problems, confusion, somnolence and even (and all too often) death.
The 70th Annual Workers’ Compensation Educational Conference, along with its partner Safety and Health Conference, focuses on national workers’ compensation and safety industries. The unprecedented number of breakouts and the quality of presenters representing states throughout the county make this a national conference with no geographical boundaries.
