Arrowpoint Capital Chief Claims Officer Julie Fortune To Receive CLM Lifetime Achievement Award
Julie Fortune, Senior Vice President and Chief Claims Officer, Arrowpoint Capital, will receive the CLM Lifetime Achievement Award, sponsored by NARS, at the CLM Annual Conference in Orlando on March 13. Fortune is being recognized for the significant contributions she has made to the industry over the years.
“Julie has been a strong industry advocate and supporter of the CLM since its inception," said Anne Blume, CEO of the CLM. "She served on the CLM Advisory Board for many years, spearheaded the creation of a CLM Medical Legal Conference in 2015, and was one of the original Chancellors of the Litigation Management Institute. We are tremendously grateful for her vast contributions to the CLM and thrilled to present her with this well-deserved recognition."
”I am honored to receive this award from the CLM,” said Julie. “I’ve always believed that the best way to advance our industry is by promoting best practices and new, effective tools and methodologies across the claims profession. The CLM is an essential vehicle for doing just that. Through its conferences, training programs, publications and other initiatives, the CLM is driving the conversation about how to achieve successful claims outcomes, while providing development opportunities for younger claims professionals. In particular, I’m pleased to have helped launch the CLM Women’s Forum, which provides networking and training for women in our industry.
“In accepting this award, I want to thank not only the CLM, but also my colleagues at Arrowpoint Capital, particularly our CEO John Tighe, for their support of the innovative strategies we have put in practice at our company. There are no more important factors to success in our industry than teamwork and collaboration, and I believe those characteristics are exemplified by Arrowpoint’s approach to business.”
“Congratulations to Julie on this richly deserved award,” said Arrowpoint Capital President & CEO John Tighe. “Julie provides dynamic leadership within our Claims organization and across our entire company. She has differentiated herself in the insurance community as a disciplined executive who can quickly size up an opportunity and align resources and tools to deliver on the task at hand, regardless of its complexities.”
Julie has more than 30 years of experience in the insurance industry, with strong expertise in claims handling and resolution strategies; litigation management; vendor, pharmaceutical and medical management; and data analysis. She is known for creating and executing innovative solutions to emerging issues and trends arising in the industry. An attorney, Julie served as the first National Litigation Manager for Liberty Mutual, later holding a similar role for Zurich North America. Notably, Julie served as an ABA representative on the team that created the original Uniform Task Based Management System (UTBMS), a legal billing, coding and tracking tool used by the insurance industry.
In addition to the CLM, Julie is a member of the Association of Corporate Counsel, the College of Workers Compensation Lawyers, the American Bar Association, and the Bar of the US Supreme Court and states of Oregon and Tennessee.
