Claims Executives to Speak at 2019 CLM Workers Compensation Conference
Arrowpoint Capital Chief Claims Officer Julie Fortune and Claims Executive Ron Mazariegos will lead expert panels at this year’s CLM Workers Compensation Conference in Chicago on May 21-23.
The CLM is the largest professional association for the insurance industry with 45,000 professionals working in claims resolution and litigation management. Several hundred members are expected to attend the Workers Compensation Conference.
Julie’s panel will examine “Medical Devices that Fail.” They will discuss how modern medicine has given us numerous devices that help workers compensation claimants have a more normal life. However, sometimes these devices fail, and the panel will outline strategies for working with claimants when that happens.
Also on Julie’s panel are:
Genese Dopson: Wilson Elser Moskowitz Edelman & Dicker LLP
Jeanne Lenzer: Jeanne Lenzer, LLC
Giovanni Masucci: National Digital Forensics Inc.
Ron’s panel will discuss “Riding the Green Wave – Navigating the Intersection of Medical Marijuana, Politics, Medicine and Workers Compensation.” While the gray area of the legality of medical marijuana still exists, an increasing number of doctors, injured workers and legal authorities are starting to embrace this alternative treatment. This session will explore the most recent developments in medical marijuana and workers compensation, with an emphasis on legal issues, legislation, the carrier’s perspective and real-world practical solutions to dealing with medical marijuana as a form of treatment in workers compensation.
Ron’s panel also includes:
Jeremy Buchalski: Wilson Elser Moskowitz Edelman & Dicker LLP
Carlos Giron: Pain Institute of Georgia
Jeremy Unruh: PharmaCann LLC
